About

The tower, the "donjon" of the former fortress of Ciacova or CULA, as the locals say it, dates back to the fourteenth century and was built for military purposes.

Built of bricks on four levels - ground floor and three upper floors - in a rectangular plan with corner buttresses, 23.70 meters high and with a foundation over four meters deep, Cula resisted over the centuries.

A similar construction is found in Vršac, Vojvodina.
