Tower – bell is the oldest vestige of Lugoj and belonged to the former "St. Nicholas" church - monastery, founded in the XIV-XV century. There are no reliable data on the year of construction. Some researchers argue that the church - to which the actual bell belongs - was built of wood by the monks coming from Wallachia.
